Louhi Daycare Centre

This kindergarten consists of new construction and the existing red-brick piggery of Sörnäinen Prison, originally designed by Axel Hampus Dahlström and completed in 1890. The old building is protected in the town plan as sr-2. The new wooden part has been placed on the plot so that it can be connected to the old building with a light structure, leaving open as much of the sunny courtyard area as possible. Differences in the height levels of the plot allow for a new service connection on street level in the new construction area.
