Iisalmi Swimming Hall

A modern and bright swimming hall was designed in the city centre of Iisalmi, complete with gyms and functional auxiliary spaces. The bright interiors are complemented by ceramic murals created by an artist, adding a sympathetic touch and local feel. We designed solutions for the demanding technology and acoustic conditions needed for a functional swimming hall.

We successfully solved the challenge posed by the cramped plot that encompassed the old swimming hall, preserving the plot’s magnificent pine grove while keeping the swimming hall’s scale suitable for the residential environment. The new building was able to be taken into use even before the old swimming hall was demolished.
