Art Barn

We converted an old stone barn into a remarkable art gallery. To increase the volume of the total exhibition space, part of the intermediate floor was dismantled. We placed video art spaces in the old barn section on the ground floor. In the attic hay storage area, the sparse cladding of the gable ends functioned as a ventilation solution for the space.

We fell in love with the beautiful rays of light coming through the gaps in the boards in the attic space and wanted to make this impression an essential part of the exhibition space’s lighting solution. On the interior side of the sparse boards, a glass wall made of oxide-free glass was placed, allowing maximum light penetration. The impression gives a very authentic feel and mirrors the original building – a true Art Barn.
