Haaga-Helia Pasila Campus

The university of applied science Haaga-Helia’s new Pasila Campus is located centrally next to the Pasila railway station and Messukeskus. The higher education building was designed for one long-term client, KOy Opetustalo, to fit the profile of Haaga-Helia’s business management programmes. The design was guided by the responses from a broad user survey for students, teachers and staff. Their clear directive was for a learning environment that resembled modern working life which was open and supported encounters through solutions such as easily accessible group work spaces.

We created a community-oriented educational institution where glass walls open up the learning and work spaces to common central areas. The building contains an auditorium that seats 270 people, modern AV technology and a cafe-restaurant situated near glass-roofed entrance hall. Two glass bridges connect the adjoining building, which is also our own design, the SLK building of Business College Helsinki.
